Travels to Equatorial Singapore

City skyline on the Singapore River.
Singapore's icon, the Merlion, is distant, but can be seen founting into the River. (Hmmmm - wonder if that's a word...)

Close-up of the spittooning Merlion.
The building in the background is an entertainment hall called "The Esplanade". Its unique appearance is often compared to a local fruit named the durian - aka, the King of Fruits. It may be The King, but it is so repulsively odoriferous that businesses forbid its presence in the workplace.

I WAS THERE!
A close up of the building that thinks it's a fruit. It's actually quite beautiful inside and is acoustically scintillating. At night, the spike tips illuminate delightfully, and the smelly fruit morphs into an unexpected star cluster.

Colorful Clarke Quay (pronounced "key"), also on the Singapore River
